Diagnosis
As Manchester Training Limited we enjoyed four decades at the sharp end of training, NVQ’s and Apprenticeships in the automotive and logistics sectors. Like any future thinking 40 year old we embarked upon a health check to ensure that we were fit for another 40 years. This research discovered the patient to be in fine fettle financially - see our results at Companies House and awarded Outstanding for FMCE by the LSC, but many of our stakeholders felt that the name was too parochial and that we had moved on from the days of pure “instructor led” training.

Remedy
For these reasons we’re re-launching our company name as “Mantra Learning”.
Our advertising agency, Stealth suggested the new name and we loved it. MANTRA has excellent connotations with the ethos of learning, not just learning for learning’s sake and it is exactly what our brief requested, something punchy that we could divisionalise and that could evolve as the business continues to develop. In this vein we have introduced two divisions: Mantra Learning and Mantra Skills, which represent our workbased learning (NVQ’s and Apprenticeships) and technical skills courses (such as FLT, HGV and ADR training and testing) respectively.
We believe that our success has been due to our commitment to innovative approaches to learning and our provision is rated by OFSTED as Outstanding. We are one of only 35 work based learning providers in the UK with the Beacon Status for Educational Excellence and the only UK Grade 1, specialist logistics provider of Apprenticeships and NVQs. Wherever possible we work hard to ensure that the logistics and automotive sectors receive their fair share of government funded learning, for the improvement of people and businesses in these sectors.
People are now able to learn the fine art of logistics technology in our state of the art 15,000 Sqft warehouse, equipped with the latest electronics and hardware technology – all brand new and sponsored by world-class manufacturers who now have a working showcase for their products, available for demonstration in real time through webcams.
We see our role as providing a series of personal development programmes which encourage employees to see their career development as a vital part of their personal future. As well as showing how things are done, we try to make people think about the reasons for doing things, which makes them more proactive in the workplace by encouraging them to think how things can be improved.
